Jill Mullen, SVMS Principal
Mrs. Jill Mullen is in her fifth year as principal of SVMS, tenth year in Liberty, and eleventh year in education. She started her teaching career in Liberty in the fall of 2000 as a sixth grade math teacher and taught math for four years at the middle level. While teaching, Mrs. Mullen was also the Liberty High School Head Volleyball Coach for two years. Her administrative career started at SVMS where she was the assistant principal to Dr. Vogelaar during the 2004-2005 school year.
In 2005, Mrs. Mullen returned to her home state of Wisconsin where she served as an associate principal at Greendale Middle School in the Greendale School District in Greendale, Wisconsin, from 2005-2008. She returned to the Liberty School District in August of 2008.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa, a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University, and a Specialist Degree from Northwest Missouri State University in The Superintendency.
Mrs. Mullen has a passion for the middle level learner and has spent her entire career at the middle level. She loves seeing the growth that students make socially, emotionally, and academically during this time frame. She loves seeing students and teachers succeed in all that they do. Her charge is to continue the high expectations of SVMS and create a learning environment that is “student centered for student success.”
Mrs. Mullen enjoys spending time with her family and has been thrilled to see the love for learning in her own children. In her free time, she loves to exercise, watch sports of any kind, continue in her own learning, and challenge herself in all that she does.
